Mission Trips
Recently we have sent groups to the Philippines, Thailand, and Brazil. We have also served in Huntsville, Alabama and Slidell, Louisiana. Individuals have also ministered to many other groups worldwide.
Raceway Ministry
Texas Motor Speedway (TMS), in the north area of Fort Worth, is a place for families and individuals minister to the many thousands who attend the races throughout the year. Recently a group of young adults have started camping and evangelizing to the workers of TMS.
Raceway Ministries at TMS provides live music, games, children’s activities, directions, transportation, and beverages—in addition to distributing a variety of literature that contains the gospel. An example of this literature is a Raceway Trivia Brochure that contains racing trivia, race week schedules, a place for the spectators to keep up with qualifying times, as well as the plan of salvation written in the language of the race track. All of these activities are for the furtherance of His Kingdom, which is why Birchman has been devoted to ensuring these activities always have a purpose.
Local Missions
Birchman Local Mission Projects have included:
Corners of the Field (COF)
This ministry, led by Vic and Mary Ashford, provides services to meet the physical needs of people in our community. But, most importantly, through the services of COF people in crisis are counseled that a personal relationship with Christ is their only
true hope for a better life for them and their families. Every Thursday from 1 to 3:30 p.m. COF provides clothing and food to people in the 76108, 76119 and 76126 ZIP codes (according to the number of people in their household). If they do not speak English, forms and a translator are available in Spanish.
The name “Corners of the Field” comes from the story of Ruth and Boaz in Ruth 1 and 2. Ruth was encouraged by Boaz, the wealthy farmer, to glean from the corners of his field for their food. Instead of this giving the widows inferior food, it is an example of being good stewards of the blessings God has given us.
Angel Tree
Led by Wallace “Mickey” Walker, Angel Tree is a ministry to families living in our area by providing Christmas gifts for the children of jail and prison inmates who are involved in the Prison Ministry of their facility.
Transportation Ministry
Birchman Baptist Church has purchased vehicles exclusively for this ministry. We provide transportation for senior adults and local community for Sunday mornings, Wednesday fellowship, and other special events.
To help with this ministry, you must complete a course of defensive driving and have your driver’s license on file with the church office. For more information, contact Mark Grubb in the church offices 817-244-6590.
OTHER MINISTRIES
ADOPT-A-SCHOOL
The desire of this ministry is to develop a permanent relationship with Western Hills Elementary and Western Hills Primary schools. Recently, members of the church have provided school uniforms and other supplies to ease the financial burden of families.
